Mushroom (scientific name: Agaricus campestris) is a fungus of the Agaricus family and the Agaricus genus. It is also called white mushroom and foreign mushroom. It belongs to the Agaricales order and the Agaricoides subphylum. It is a variety of edible mushrooms that are widely cultivated, have high yields, and have a large consumption in the world. It is cultivated in many countries, and my country ranks second in the world in terms of total output. In recent years, with the rapid development of the edible fungi industry, the output of Agaricus bisporus has also increased year by year, becoming a pillar industry for farmers to increase their income in many regions. With the improvement of people's living standards, the demand for mushroom consumption has continued to increase, and the factory cultivation of Agaricus bisporus has also begun to be realized.
The life history of Agaricus bisporus is divided into the mycelium stage and the fruiting body stage. The fruiting body is the mushroom body, which can be divided into the primordium stage, the mushroom bud stage, and the mature stage.
Mycelium stage
After sowing, the white mycelium slowly spreads and grows in the culture medium until it covers the entire culture medium. This stage is called the mycelium stage.
Primordial stage
After the mycelium forms a mycelium layer in the covering soil layer, it twists into a white primordium the size of a rice grain, which is called the primordium stage. It usually appears about 15 days after covering the soil.
Mushroom bud stage
The primordium continues to grow and becomes the shape of Agaricus bisporus, which is the mushroom bud stage. Generally, it grows about 3 days after the primordium is formed.
Growth period
The period from the formation of the mushroom bud to the harvest of Agaricus bisporus is the growth period. It grows fast when the temperature is high and grows slowly when the temperature is low.
